They Pause

What can you live without?

Most people would go with a comedic answer,

Like an IPod, or interet,

Some people answer deeply,

Like their mother, or intellect,

Then their are the people who actually think about it,

They pause.

They may look up,

They may close their eyes,

But there are seconds between the question and answer,

And that answer is mine.

That time that they have inbetween is all I need.

With life moving so fast,

No one really takes time,

We think about the future, but discuss the past,

We speed past the present, so it never lasts,

I'm always on the go,

People think being stranded on an island is a crisis,

I'd love to have that luxury.

No work to make me sweat,

No one to make me fret,

Just time.

Time to myself and time to look at the sky,

So next time you get asked "What you can't live without",

Please take your time.

Because when you are on your deathbed,

And have one last wish,

It wont be an IPod or internet,

It will be more time,

And you will fill with regret.
