They don’t tell you…

that the cutest shoes are also the least comfortable.

Bras too.

that your hairstyle now will be weird in two years.

that sleep is a commodity guaranteed to increase in value over time.

that mommy makes mistakes too.

She won’t admit it, though.

that people only pretend to understand insurance.

that whites hate blacks hate Hispanics hate STILL today in parts of America.

that joy and pain can coexist.

Case in point: childbirth.

that debt is really the root of all evil.

that you can('t) trust some people.

that diseases and addictions don’t play favorites.

And “crazy” looks more normal than you’d expect.

that one day you’ll actually WANT someone to tell you what to do.

that the clock will not go back to a simpler time.

that the worst and best are yet to come.

So tell someone today, tomorrow, and tomorrow’s tomorrow…

that you’re listening.

that their voice is worth being heard.

 that you’re walking through life with them.

(And that no one understands modern art. That's okay.)
