There's A Reason

There's a reason

I'm alive

There's a reason

That I try

It may not be what you expect

For it is not fear of neglect

That keeps me going when I'm down,

No, it is but a certain sound

Piano! Piano!

The melody of keys

I listen to the pounds and drums

And there my ears are pleased

I have a terrible day and walk

Back into my house, distraught

To simply dawn my headphones here

And play the melodies in my ear

My olden friend would play his songs

And even though he is long gone

Hearing piano brings memories

And these are what can make me see

That everything is better than

It seems within the day

For the sounds of a simple song,

Can take the pain away
