there used to be the yearning to connect with something more

more in line with the soul and stars,

more tuned to the search of God.

a simple search as the hearts of man are simple

only the complexity of choices makes such simplicity become distorted

and yet there used to be the desire to connect with a higher power

and then prophets came along

so many who connected with something more

more in line with the soul and stare,

more tuned to the search of God.

so many listened, so many learned, so many tried

and then

slowly it all changed

no longer trying to be connected with who they are

no longer wanting to be

turning mind and back upon anything more

no longer believing in anything other then themselves.

there used to be God in the lives of so many

and while so many now spit in the eye of God

there used to be so many more that tried with a whole heart, to love God.
