There is no sound.

She’s sitting, lying in her bed,

And she just stares at the ceiling.

I speak to her, I tell her I love her

And she squeezes my hand.

There is no sound.

She breathes like a normal person.

And she can see me, feel me,

Touch me, hear me.

But her lips will not, can not move.

There is no sound.

I turn to my family, my face pleading.

They just shake their heads.

I know that it’s her time.

And her last breath comes slowly, then nothing.

For the final time, there is no sound.

And I know that

Now, she is
