Many have forgot what happened
Going day to day living like nothing ever happened
Failing to remember what sacrifices where made
So that we could use the same fountain as someone of different pigment
However I am proud of my ancestors
Who took physical and verbal abuse to stand up for what they believe in
We many times forget what they have done for us
Reaping from the benefits but forgetting to give thanks
However I stand here saying thank you to the fallen soldiers
Those that were not afraid to die for what they believed in
They are true heroes
And I am thankful for what they did
So that we can live equally.
