Temptation

Luke 22:39-40

The Prayer in the Garden

39 Coming out, He went to the Mount of Olives, as He was accustomed, and His disciples also followed Him. 40 When He came to the place, He said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

Enter not in temptation ... I thought that I fell into that?

I’ve got something to do with that...for that I am responsible?

Oh brother! That does not look too good. What happens to excuses

that so easily come to me when I fail and fall? Incomprehensible!

Jesus possessed His Own Will ... though He was One with the Father.

So it is with us ... if our will has been set free.

If we are not in bondage ... to the evil one, called satan

and even then we are not forced ... to obey God in word and deed.

The freedom that we have then ... to examine God’s Will

and then choose to follow ... the One, Who made us free.

This is still our option ... that is why the devil keeps prodding

and instigate our flesh ... to disobey the Lord in deed.
