The Teller

The Teller

I looked in your eyes, but I just couldn’t see

A glimmer of hope reflect back to me

The hours we spent the laughs we cashed in

But the bank closed at 5 and it’s a quarter till 10

I walked for miles but the sign says we’re closed

The sun goes down and the darkness soon grows

I wait for the earth to finish its spin

Till the doors are unlocked and they’re open again

Teller can you get me a loan

I’ll sign on the line give you all that I own

And when you take me down, I’ll take you home

Don’t turn me down my credit is good

Sure I’ve made some mistakes, but you knew that I would

Take my past as my payment and hold it till when

Our future is written by the ink in your pen

Teller can you get me a loan

I’ll sign on the line give you all that I own

And when you take me down, I’ll take you home
