Tears of Words

Location

A family member gone.

Not even able to understand why you were so cold.

Trapped in my sorrow, these words were the only way to go.

You left me without warning, how could you go?

No goodbyes.         No reasons.            Nothing to be told.

Oh, how I thought I had gotten the joke.

You were going to wake up and say surprise, just as a fathers day joke?  -nope.

The wake was over and these tears started to flow.

How could grandma do this to me mom? I thought she loved me, she told me so.

Seemed as if first grade became symbolism of a first experince to losing some innocence.

It was the words on the paper that started expressing these feelings.                                                                                                                                                             It was the words on the paper that came alive during those fellowships.

Maybe grandma wasnt there to guide me, but these words were.                                                     Maybe, I was too young to understand. But to put a pen to a paper and let the tears fall, was a moment that seemed to last forever.

I proably never got to say my see you laters and goodbyes, but its the words of my poems that reunite when I cry.
