Tear Stained Scars

Location

I saw him lie there
cold still, and grasping for air
The pills were many but still too few
He flatlined sooner than I even knew
Urgently saved, yet another time
will they ever see what they did to make him hate his own timeline
Now he lives and breathes
but lives so vague and carefully
His body shows the scars
where his tears once drew blood
He drowns in anxiety and depression
but he is not alone
not in this horrid moral transgression
He was but 1 of 30,000 just this year
1 death in 25 attempts, when will someone hear
It happened to my brother
the pain like not other
My heart will stop
if I live through the sound of another flatline drop
I saw him lie there cold, still and grasping for air
