Teachers on the Outside

Here we are......

Looking inside  transformed classrooms where we once taught.

Concerned for the children because we know what is missing!

Children first need to learn to read.

They need to read well and to love reading.

They need to read to access knowledge and skills through-out life.

But for many children it isn’t happening.

Why can’t we just be free to teach them!

That was our purpose, our desire.... it was our career.

It is disheartening!

We see data collection and decisions made from afar.

We see tests and processes driving teachers while tying their hands.

We see experiments mandated over and over..... still failing.

We know these children are being cheated!

We know how hard life is without a solid academic foundation.

We know how the money is wasted!

We know this is destructive to the children, the teachers and our country
