I’m a popular flavoring in cooking, you see
Eat me raw or cooked, doesn’t matter to me
If you eat me as a softneck, I’m mild to hot
But I lack the subtle, complex flavor a lot
But eat me as a hardneck and I’m interesting
In flavor and complexity, it’s kind of my thing
If you want me at my strongest, start pressing me
If you want the pungent flavor of my juices, crush me
If you chop me it depends on the pieces, how small
And whether you let me dissolve by cooking at all
If you want a lighter flavor, slice me up, I concur
But a strong, nutty favorite is browning for sure
Get puree or extract, fresh or powdered
No matter what form, you’ll taste my power
Use me for flavoring oils and different sauces
Use me to make delicious stir-fry and salsas
That pungent, spicy flavor is how you can know
