Tangled Innocence

Vapors of her sadness

Give my head the spins of eternal madness

Soul drips cherry-creme sweets

Hides illness only death defeats

Inhale to phantom limb her pain

Hurt with every bruised vein

Under fresh skin lies truth

Internal decay troubles the youth

Plea with darkness that's crossed a line

Sick riddles creep the spine

Wreck a mind filled with light

Don't let this be her only plight

Tumor tangles innocence 'til it's made to leave

Hours go by as I sit and grieve

White coat arrival here to disturb

Teeth clench with the last verb

"It's out, she's fine, just don't turn your back

Her demons like the surprise attack"

Asking why, never ending

Saying "I love you," that time I could be spending
