Tainted Minds

The magazines shout out at me,

“To be thin is to be beautiful!

“Go ahead, starve yourself and results you shall see!”

As if execrable eating disorders are not already plentiful.

Turn the page and see the face,

Of the sultriest star lathered in war paint.

Then on the next, an airbrushed woman lay covered in lace.

Just how many minds do they intend to taint?

Take heed to this preposterous perfection,

And please realize it is sheer simulation.

In the mirror, no one will see this impossible reflection.

Only by edit, can there be replication.

Media mocks those that are genuinely gorgeous.

You are perfectly pretty, no matter if your legs are small or exceptionally enormous.
