Synesthete

They know next to nothing

about my brand of

what they are guessing

about, possibly,

though most acknowledge

it is strength.

The internet cannot explain to me

why emotions have color

and moments have shades

and all the hues of humanity are interwoven

in a personality.

I am "associative,"

because I feel strongly,

I do not see.

When my eyes are closed,

and I am experiencing,

the world erupts away from night.

I am royal blue

darkly tinged with navy,

swirls of childhood blue,

a bleeding maroon,

strike-your-soul magenta,

and a palest whisper of pink.
