Blood burns inside her wrists so sore

until she’s writhing on the floor

in acute pain caused by the madness

of consuming ones heart and wanting more.

The red drips from her baby nose

it doesn’t stop but gently flows

shivering and crying, curled up fetal

the dark desperation of her emotion grows

Growing large, her strawberry heart

turns from sweet to surprisingly tart

the wood beneath her creaks and groans

from this place she can never again part.
