Sweet Chocolate High

Fri, 02/13/2015 - 18:30 -- Breeah

LOOK at me.

STARE at me.

PIERCE with your judging eyes

Through the layer of creamy brown skin

So chocolaty it can melt into a pool of thick consistency

So D E L I C I O U S

You can’t restrain yourself from trying to get

a taste.

What more you crave

Is not the hyperpigmentation or blemishes

From a black girls past.

Journey beyond the kinky fro

With an attitude of its own to be admired,

Each a strand of the endless hopes I have for my future.

Journey past the

non “on fleek” brows

And ebony eyes

And juicy full lips.

Crave my s o u l and when you find it,

I beg of you to resist the urge

Fight the temptation

To consume it completely,

This cacao nut,

This seed of my existence.

Initially after the your first bite

You will get a sugar high, and there is no turning back.

Here you are in HEAVEN.

Look around.

THERE!

There is the strength of a teen

Who is making mistakes every day, but is still trying to find the way,

Will not always get the perfect grade, but can appreciate the efforts made.

With a forceful drive to succeed, without a selfish need.

A cold hand, but a warm heart,

A FLAWLESS DIVA from the start.

Aggravating as heck (but my mom still loves me),

Never EVER going to change for anybody

Simply, Bree.
