The survivor,descendant,soldier, and the root

Location

I am an African, an African

taken from my homeland and

brought into a place where I am known as

being "inferior" Why was this happening?

Do I not shed blood and cry as any other

person? Must I face the same fate as my ancestors?

NO! For I am a survivor, I am the descendant of

a people that have trodden from their homeland

into a world of chains. I am the descendant of a

people who fought against their captors. I am

the descendant of a people who have fought for their rights.

I am the root of a seed as I have carried the burdens of

my ancestors the way I would carry a boulder on my back.

I am a soldier, I will never stop fighting. I am an African, an

African born in the Americas. I am the survivor, descendant,

soldier, and the root.
