SuperStar

"My momma told me when I was young...

We were all born SuperStars..."

Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" lyrics should speak to me

I should embrace who I am indeed

I have always wanted to pursue a career in music

However, I do not have the courage to do it

Media says you have to be thin and tan

I am thick and I'm pale...white as sand

So much make-up you cannot see my natural face

I cover my freckles, I leave not a trace

I have natural red hair, but I color it blonde

If I am hiding - Do blondes really have more fun?

I've exposed myself to tanning beds to look more appealing

The cancer causing container just made my freckles more revealing

I now spray tan to have a "safe" way to color

Spray tans lead to COPD, a disease like no other

Maybe one day I can accept my appearance

For now cosmetics will embrace my disappearance
