Sunset

Location

Why do the days have to end?

The lights go out.

The night begins.

The beauty of a summer's day

Darkens after sunset.

They say the bird's songs are lovely all day

And the stars at night form a longing display

But the most beautiful time of all

Is the sunset at the day's fall.

The moments of deepest love

And heartwrenching goodbyes

Are the most painful

Yet most beautiful of times

Watching you sleep

So calm and at peace

You told me I was beautiful

But I know it's you, not me

The time counts down

I don't want you to go

But I'll be here waiting

Waiting patiently for your return

You'll return with the sun

My bright, beautiful love

The night will be over

With a divine kiss and hug

Until then I wait

I wait with endless patience

I wait for the morn

I wait for your love

Why do the days have to end?

The light's go out

The night begins

The beauty of a summer's day

Darkens after sunset

But I will ceaselessly wait,

And you, my dear, will bring the day.
