Sunny Days

Sunny Days

Ice cream

Long bike rides.

Giggles ringing through the air.

It was fun.

A time of simplicity where worries were few and far between.

Long deep breaths of dewy morning air.

A meditation on the world around me.

A way to translate my past into the many languages of healing.

Becoming accustomed to breaking down my fears and trauma.

it excites me to see myself come out of my cocoon.

To see myself smile more.

To find it easier to call me beautiful.

To no longer worry so much.

As I want that little girl,

who loved sunny days, ice cream, and long bike rides.

Whose giggles filled up the room

Who felt at one point that she was broken to no repair.

I want to make her proud.

As she deserves nothing but love

She deserves to know she is worthy,

And so do you.
