it was the sun that became my friend

from school to school

to house to house

the sun remained.

as friends realized

soon i will just leave again.

the sun remained. 

family couldn't accept me

and i wandered lost.

cloudy were the days,

for i was self absorbed

and the sun hid.

there was no heat

and the blankets that covered my body

weren't enough.

sadness crept in and swallowed my heart whole. 

and it continued

it swallowed

it continued

til one day a stream a light slipped in between the curtains.

and the sun remained.
