Summer Storms

Summer
Storms, then sunshine
Breaks down the clouds quickly
Heavy wet air splits the sunlight
Apart

Broken
Plants stand back up
One more drop hits the ground
And soaked soil sucks up still more
Water

Little
Toes scrunch down in
The dirt, finding small stones
Hands collect leaves and other small
Treasures

Birds chirp
Again after
The fierce rain has ended
And get back to work, finding food
For young

Other
Storms are forming
Waiting for tomorrow
When they will fuel the wild growth of
Summer
