Summer Scars

I love nights like

this when the sky is opened into my window

and the world comes trickling in.

I feel vines and tentacular veins pierce my skin

and it's okay because

yeah I'm not so tough as I look

but in the wee hours of the morning

I don't mind

there's no one here to see me

standing (never naked)

before the world

saying

this is my fault

I fucked this up.

And I'm living.

Still.
