Summer is Me

To see what you like about summer you have to see the sunshine.

When you see the sun shine, you can feel it’s rays.

As the rays touch your skin you know summer has begun.

When summer is here, winter is nowhere near.

I don’t know about you, but that’s what I like to hear.

Just hand me a dollar and I’ll buy the coldest popsicle near.

Can you hear it? I can, it’s the laughter of children when running in the sand.

Don’t forget your sunscreen because you can get a burning tan.

Yikes! That would hurt, but still it’s worth it, just get me a fan.

The smell of barbeque, the smell of a pool, and the taste of a watermelon…

There’s no way there is school.

As the summer days grow longer and the sun sets sooner

I know the summer days are going away.

But that okay, let me say…

I know summer in this world can come any day.
