The Sum of My Parts

I am not less for the mistakes I have made, but made greater by them.

My failings don't me weigh down because I choose to stand on them and elevate myself.

Every bloody nose, every burning muscle, every bead of sweat is a step toward my next achievement.

In the noise of a shouting, growling society, I still find who I am.

For every insecurity, I stand steadfast. I remain a shoulder to lean on- a quiet voice of reassurance for any stranger who listens.

I will not quit because I will prove myself to the world. I greet every dawn with a grin because I know that the day is mine to take. I will face all of life's obstacles prepared to climb because I know that the view at the top is worth it.
