Sulfur Clouds
Location
This is how an Angel dies
Forced to hear of man's cries
Upon the legions of those soon to suffer
His ears lay a buffer
As his wings crumble away
He sees those of earth
Awaken for another day
And each old sorrow begins anew
Though as he watches
And tumbles through the air
Hope spreads inside the despair
A sence of pity ignites in the Angel
It is a fire that adds
To the dreams of the already damned
Below,
In the sprawling city and crowding pollution
Inside of crumbling brick brothels
And pungent back city slums
In the poison like clouds emitted from vehicles
The steam mixing with the frigid air
The dreams of those trapped in suffering
Continue to expand,
Much like the city they are bound to
The Angel watches as his skin starts to sear
The sulfurous clouds
Erase from his body
The ichor of the Gods,
Immortality no longer purging through his veins
The remnant of what once was beautiful
Into something that in its own
Is in possesion of more beauty in its dreams
Than all the stars and heaven above
Inside of crumbling brick brothels
And pungent back city slums
In the poison like clouds emitted from vehicles
The steam mixing in the frigid air
The dreams of those trapped in suffering
Continue to expand
And as the Angel dies
And ichor is ridden from his veins
A new kind of Angel is born
A new dream
In the thoughts of the already damned
