Successfully Reckless Journey
Dear mother,
Drifting into a land unknown,
What did you fear at the ripe age of nineteen?
You have spread your wings and flown,
Through fearless endeavors in an ocean so green,
Your innocent and rash actions were puerile,
What crossed your mind when you left?
Not a single glance behind like it wasn’t crucial,
You departed despite no feelings so bereft,
In a new light a new world you felt restored,
No longer an isopod drowning in a sea that unclean,
Mother, you have spread your wing and soared,
And despite it all, I am happy you’re in a land ever-green.
With love,
Slynia
