They ask me why I write?

I have to turn and smile.

I write for many things, even the things I kept in denial.

It is not the expression of love, happiness, depression, or emotion.

I write because I need to scream.

I write because it's my fiend.

They ask me why I write?

They seem shocked when I just smile.

I write for many things, even those things that make me smile.

I write because there is a part of me that hopes to really be heard.

I write because there is a part of them that hurts.

If my writing could mean anything, I hope it means something to them.

If my writing could mean anything, maybe I can change something in them.

And if I can change something in them, maybe I could just change something.

I write because I cannot speak words that cannot speak themselves.

I write in hopes that someone can understand these verbs.

Maybe I do not know how to change a world.

It takes one person to skip a rock.

It takes one action to try.

Maybe my words will not be heard by thousands.

But if it makes one difference in someone, it works.

Because I write to change something unchanging.

I write because I want them to hear their words.
