Stronger Than Before
A Voice,
Barely a whisper,
But load enough to be heard.
A light,
Barely a flicker,
But bright enough to be seen.
A shimmer of hope,
A flicker of joy,
A glimmer of love.
A shattered heart,
A roll of tape,
A stick of glue.
The lion inside is awake,
Though his roar is rather faint.
The fire inside is burning,
Though it's flame isn't that hot.
We are more than what we seem,
We are better than before,
Out of the ashes reborn,
Is a country undeterred.
