Striking out

Luke 6:26

26 Woe to you when all men speak well of you,
For so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Striking

Striking out at others ... for the things I should be doing.

Getting deeply upset ... because of own idleness

Then become a preacher ... who has lost his mirror

not able to find own reflection ... in other’s faithlessness.

Keep on telling others ... what I ought to be

hammering and pounding ... flesh into submission.

Life passes by quietly ... and uninterrupted

ignoring all the busyness ... that leads to no fruition.

Liverwurst and cheese ... wind up on a sandwich.

Here and there it feeds ... many a hungry soul.

Lots of words are spoken ... not really worth the hearing

to wind up in emptiness ... where the desperate reflect goals.
