Streets of Gold #tobeheard

We walk on the paved roads, where blood stains exist

On the lips of black boys, hatred insist

It insist on causing the community to decrease

Because each month hatred spreads like a disease

Hatred, sin that causes death

Death that stops us from walking up the steps

The steps to heaven, where the streets are paved in gold

Where God stands and welcomes us

Down what looks like a yellow brick road

The fighting must stop, and the hatred must cease

Community violence seems as if it’ll never decrease

But if we all focus on what awaits us there

Maybe God’s love will fill the air

Destroying hatred that doesn’t care about black boys or the communities here.
