The Storm in the Mirror

The dust swirled with great aggression,

resembling my thoughts,

twisted and uncontrollable.

The sky illuminated with darkness,

black and gray, and ash,

representing my emotions.

And last but not least,

the people kneeling down

praying for shelter,

reflected my life.

I kneel low with my head held high,

praying to God for an answer.

I close my eyes and clench my teeth,

hoping there’s another way

a way out through this life,

a way around this storm that seems to be

never ending.
