The Storm

Location

My gaze is captured toward the heavens-
Daytime concealed by what resembles dusk
Forewarning ruptures within the realm of perception
As natures breath grows heavy of musk

An uproar alters forgoing stillness
Streaks electrify the somber eclipse
I bury my face in a veil of haze
As rainfall presses to my lips

My thoughts flow with the whisper of the wind
A flare bleeds through the hazy grey
Unforeseen tranquility silences the world
As my heart represses in longing dismay

Anguish floods within my soul
As eventide alters to daybreak
No harm was dealt to the world around
But my heart, the storm did take
