The Storm

The dark skies, the lightning bolts,

Are they in your heart?

Gusting rain and thundering cries

Are they in your mind?

O brother, do you feel the storm inside?

I can see it in your eyes…

Your flesh is frozen, cold to the touch.

The spring has not yet entered your soul.

Let the storm on its way

Rolling into the distance…

Let the dark clouds pass from your eyes,

Close them, just for a while,

And wake to calmer skies…
