Stay With Me

I am told that I will become consumed,

By a cold, concrete adult world,

Where the skies are gray,

And problems are there to stay.

My consumption into this world is our finale.

The evident reality of this world is the dark force,

That controls everything in our universe.

I am told that even you, who has endless boundaries,

Will bow in defeat to this dark force.

This force will lash onto you,

It will break you and it will destroy you.

I am told that it was destined for us to grow apart,

That regardless of the evident reality,

I would outgrow you,

And become another one of society’s machines.

Yet, I know that what I am told is not true.

As my soul fades away into the gray abyss,

And the dark force of the adult world is there to take me,

It is you that will always be there,

Guiding me towards survival.

It is you, my imagination, my creativity,

That will get me through the dark skies of my future.

It is you, my imagination, my creativity,

That I cannot live without.
