Starting and Stopping

Starting and Stopping

Sometimes, the hardest part is knowing

When to start

When looking back to an endless journey

Stretching farther than the eye can see

The madness of the dark starring back

While wishful hopes face forward

All between the fine line that is me

A reflection of what I’ve become

A reflection of what I was

I’m taking one step forward,

But I want to take two back

I’m reaching out of nothing

To find out what I lack

And when I find something,

I’m afraid I’ll fight back.
