start over at the finish line

her feet knocks the ground over and over again on a quick thud and her heartbeat is in her ears

she feels it catching up on her with a shrieking cry and

the crowds are roaring they're a shining mirror and she sees herself

a girl with determination in her eyes

her eyebrows are thick with sweat and her hair is half down

she feels a boiling foogy breath on the back of her neck and it is whispering to her

                                  you can't do it

you can't beat me

you aren't good enough

and she has miles to go but in the horizon a yellow banner is there and it is SCREAMING at her

so she doesn't walk with an air of confidence no she's

         going

                   going

                              GONE

and her cheeks are red and she's breathing heavy and she doesn't stop

because the girl with determination in her eyes sees a finish line and it's there

in big black letters on the sleek yellow strip it says WINNER

and this time she won't lose
