The Stars Around Me
The stars around me, that push me,
Are the ones who burn. Who
Breathe the flames of tongue and language
And laugh to paint skies blue.
Their firy smiles spark
And make me run and leap.
Their embers raise me blisters
While warming me to sleep.
I can only hope they shine
Until I'm here no more.
But every day I fear
I'll have what I asked for.
