The Standing Welcome

She stands there

Day and

Night.

Never waivering

Never backing down

The rivers water lapping at the

Island edges.

Stars twinkling behind her high

Crown.

Face forward

Never looking

Back

Watching the generatrions

Pass by.

She welcomes all

Accepts the new, old and inbetweeners

She holds her light

A new meaning for all

A welcoming sign

A goodbye sign

She stands for

Freedom

Beginnings

And new Life

A lone Woman in a

World

Where Males dominate

A Mother for all.
