Stand Tall Baby Girl

Location

At six years old she can see the world full of wonder,
and her daddy says "Stand up tall baby girl or they'll walk all over you."
At twelve years old she sees a world full of opportunities,

and her daddy says, "Stand up tall little girl or they'll walk all over you."

At fourteen years old she sees the world full of love

and her daddy says, " Stand tall sweetheart or they'll walk all over you."

At fifteen years old she sees the world full of jealousy,

and her daddy says, "stand tall or they'll walk all over you."

At sixteen she sees the world of disappointment

And her daddy says, "Stand tall angel or they'll walk all over you."

At seventeen she sees a world of loneliness,

and her daddy says," Stand tall darling or they'll walk all over you."

Now at eighteen she stands tall in a crowd of familiar faces,
people have pushed her down
and she would stand back up and smile
like her daddy told her to,
at eighteen she sees the world
full of wonder and selfishness,
of opportunities and disappointment,
of love and jealousy.
She stands tall
and she smiles
because daddy knew
and when the world knocks her to her knees
she'll remember,
"Stand tall baby girl, or they'll walk all over you."
