The Sports Page

I’ve come to find that in a small town like mine,

The sports page tracks the passage of time.

Wrestling stats, baseball team hats,

Years go in plays and new quarterbacks.

I used to read through, know every name

But those kids grew up and they moved away.

Lately, I’ve been feeling my age,

Thanks to the sports page.
