The Sphynx

Location

I have limited my mind

Closed the doors and hidden

safely within my walls

The Sphynx rocking on its heels

antsy for a challenger

but alas none make it through the labyrinth

The maze that of which new things

are created but safe things

There was a time when the daring

the adventurous

would escape the walls and

float on

This new creature would challenge and confuse the Sphynx

It used to flourish and Live

until the walls were built

none shall escape the doors

the barrocks of my mind

Safety, a decision made

when ideas were demolished

rejected when they were used to praise

I have joined the many

The few have left me behind

For when the walls were built

I began to hate my mind.
