Speaking Out Against the Violence

I won't be held down.

I am strong and I will fight,

against your oppression and misogyny.

I will fight for those who can't,

make their voices heard.

So they can finally feel worthy,

to speak out, so that people like you can't hurt people like us anymore.

I stand with them, survivors and warriors.

We will not back down and keep our pretty little mouths shut.

We are "nasty women", fighting for a spot on that ladder.

You kick us down two steps with your polished loafer,

We crawl, struggling, but we make it three steps higher.

We come in all shapes and sizes, but we stand united.
