To Speak

Rowing, dipping the oars into diction
Words I refrain from dripping
Onto anything but paper—

In case of them sinking.

A boat afloat, upon syntax and structure
Has us keeping quiet
But time isn't forever, words need to be said—
We should dive in, versus bathing our toes
And write
So that we can speak.
