Southern life 1

Tue, 12/24/2019 - 13:07 -- JSLJH

The south where the wiregrass used to grow

till it was gone like a summer snow

deep in the south slow in time

home of the the whipoorwill and longleaf pine

it is there my grandfather would settle

farming the land with animals and metal

No great riches he had

just a family to worry and make him glad

His first wife she had passed afer 5 had been born

so he found Della and a new life was worn

my father was the oldest of the next four

born into tobacco road poor

This story is about to unfold

of John "son" senior and his road to gold.
