Sonnet of Senioritis
How long must I continue to prevail
Against the the odds my homework throws at me
My only wish is that I do not fail
And maybe by this summer I'll be free.
Senioritis has me by the balls
It's grasp is strong and won't relax until
I am finished with walking high school halls.
But, now, it's hard to focus any will.
To concentrate is quite impossible,
The thought of freedom weighs upon my mind.
The teachers, still, assign us all this bull
And gnaw our tired brains down to the rind.
My four long years here now are almost done,
I'll last until that prized diploma's won.
