i bury the poem in between

pages of the odyssey

it contains tales of depression and is not suitable for young viewers

the poem, not the book

but they both aren't great

one is long and difficult to decipher

the other short and easily understood

i didn't write it that way

but it grew into its role

like everything i write does

how can i sleep depressed

when you tell me i'm not

insist that i'm fine

and disregard my thoughts

seduced by sirens on the rocks

luring me in

and i can't breathe because you are 

shouting at me that i'm perfectly

okay.
