Sometimes I Lie Awake at Night Thinking About Loving you.

There’s been memories you left for me in the bottom of our sink,

Dirty bowls hold oceans of long gone breakfast meals

Filthy plates keep stories of dinner all alone.

I hear the floorboards whisper stories of us

Legacies of thrown objects

The creaking of a lover’s foot

steps

Our bed speaks longingly for you

the creak I've never heard before when I lay down alone

There’s an impression still waiting for you to lay here by me

Pillows that don’t move in the years become lonely

My closet is empty now, filled only with clothes

Photos lie unseen in a box on the floor

Love lies unwanted in my heart on your forgotten long sleeve tees

I’m a little sad now.

I hear you singing in the hallways still

Not sure if it’s in my head or the wind.

Not sure if it's in my head or the wind.

Not sure if it’s in my head or the wind.

Not sure if it's in my head or the wind.

"Not sure if it's in my head or the wind." - you
