Sometimes Blue and Gold

I see blue and gold when the sun sets.

Sometimes the gold isn't always there,

Sometimes it doesn't come back.

Sometimes it is brown, or even black;

As the view from the window gets bigger.

It suffocates me.

And the blue isn't always bright,

Like the ocean shown with light.

Sometimes it's white, pale,

With a sheen of gray.

A cloudy sight.

People tell me that today is a present,

but sometimes I feel like the sun is slow to set.

There is one thought that is constant.

About how much I hope for the sun to not rise at all.

That way I can finally breathe.

No more repetition, or emotions to hide.

But I guess sometimes you just gotta

See the blue and gold set

From someone else's eyes.
